Thanks for your reply.. I heard that after bachelors we need 4 years of experience. But there is nowhere mentioned after Masters degree how many yeras of experience needed. Kathryn Bain. Dear Joseph, Perhaps one reason that some people have a perception of 4 to 6 years of experience is this is generally how long accredited professional development schemes generally last and these set people up with the opportunities to develop the required competence and commitments in a structured and defined way.
As others have already mentioned there is not a limit for how long you need to work or how many years of experience are required as it will depend on how long it takes you to develop the experience and competences required for professional registration.
Career Manager allows you to map your experience against these competence areas to see where you still need to develop, and also helps you to plan the development in a structured way against the competence frameworks for professional registration so may be a good starting point if you are unsure of your readiness to apply.
If you're not ready yet, and have some competence areas you still need to develop then the IET's IPD Service can also provide support and guidance - don't hesitate to contact us at: profdev theiet. Kind Regards, Kathryn Bain. Thanks Kathryn. Moshe W. So maybe this is were you heard about the 4 year requirement. In UK its different,.
